I have eternal life! That brings me peace, joy, contentment, security, hope, happiness, and freedom. Do you have eternal life?
When you receive eternal life, no one can ever take it away from you.
“I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life.” (1 John 5:13)
Christians must take a hold of their salvation and possess their eternal life. Let it sink in. YOU – ARE – GOING – TO – LIVE – FOREVER.
You will never die for you will live forever with God. All born again believers receive this free gift of eternal life in Christ Jesus.
The Death of Lazarus
Lazarus had been dead in the tomb for 4 days when Jesus arrived. Martha, one of Lazarus’ sisters came out to meet Jesus and said:
“Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask.”
Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.”
Martha answered, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
“Yes, Lord,” she replied, “I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”
Jesus brought Lazarus back to life and this happened so that we would see why Jesus came to earth. He came to bring life! The devil destroys life, but Jesus restores it.
It represents our salvation. We were once dead in our transgressions (sins), but we have been brought back to life through Jesus Christ. We were spiritually dead, but now we are alive and free from the law of sin and death.
“When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face.
Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.”
Abundant Life In Christ
The abundant life that Jesus talks about in John 10:10 is a spiritual life. It has nothing to do with getting rich, worldly success, or the possession of things, it’s much better than all that. It runs much deeper.
It’s a life that nourishes your soul and spirit 24/7.
Your old life will be gone forever, but don’t be sad, it’s something to rejoice about as the old self is a false self (ego) that lives only to satisfy the desires of the flesh.
Before regeneration, we are slaves to sin, so there is no freedom in that way of life.
You have crossed over from darkness to light and now you are living the life of Christ.
You have been given the gift of the Holy Spirit which now directs your life. Your personality is no longer controlled by the flesh. As the apostle Paul puts it, ‘I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.’ (Galatians 2:20)
The Holy Spirit lives in you and will keep you from sin, guarding you against temptation.
The evil one (the devil) wants to destroy you, your family, and your whole life. He hates God and hates man. This is why Jesus says:
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10)
Jesus came to give You an Abundant Life. Everything He gives to you is given in ABUNDANCE.
How do we receive abundant life?
The abundant life is a spiritual life, so first, you must be born again. After that, it’s up to you how victoriously you want to live as God wants to give you life to the full, but you do have to work to claim it. You have to do your part to bring it in.
You must also renounce the lies of the enemy who has had control of your mind, body, and soul for a long time. He has planted negative thoughts about you in your mind and you may have let those lies take root in your heart.
Believe in Jesus and claim the promises of God. He wants to bless you abundantly, but you have an enemy, the devil who wants to destroy you and make you miserable.
Renounce all those lies now, in Jesus’ name.
The sign of a saved person is a changed life.
‘The old has gone the new has come.’ (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Create an Amazingly, Abundant Life for Yourself
When I was growing up in Ireland, anytime I would complain about how life wasn’t giving me what I wanted, the older generation would reply with, “God helps those who help themselves.” It used to infuriate me.
Haha 🙂 it makes me laugh now because it’s so true. If you want something in life you have to pray and ask God for it. Believe it is yours and then do what you can to make it happen. The Holy Spirit can only direct us as we move forward. Step by step God directs us. This is why you need to be in a relationship with God.
I’ve been a Christian for a long time now and I’m amazed at how many Christians I see who are so unhappy. I can’t understand it because they have the power of God living in them and yet they refuse to avail of it.
It’s like owning a Ferrari but never taking it out for a drive and if you do take it out, you drive it in 2nd gear, never taking to the open roads. It makes no sense.
It’s all in our mindset, and yet if I say that to some miserable people who claim to be Christians, they tell me, that mindset stuff is new age or something ridiculous like that. They don’t want to change.
Do they not read their bibles? We have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16), but we have to use it. Think about that for a minute, if you are born again (saved), you have God’s mind working in you.
How? By being in relationship with God through Faith. If you don’t have faith, how do you expect to have an abundant life?
RELEASE YOUR FAITH! Learn how to use it. The disciples couldn’t cast out a demon and Jesus said it was because they had no faith, they didn’t really believe they could do it. Why do something, if you don’t believe you can?
We all do this, we try things, we fail, but if we’re being honest we sort of expect to fail. We don’t believe we can succeed.
The most successful people in the world will tell you, they succeeded because they believed they could. And you don’t need much faith. Jesus said, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can move a mountain.
“Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, Move from here to there, and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:19-20)
What mountains in your life would you like to move?
The Promises of God
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord,” plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11)
It is pointless to say you believe in God and yet not put His promises to the test. God says He has plans for us. He’s for us and not against us, so why then are we not living victoriously?
We are the problem. If we could just start to believe and hope in a bright future for ourselves, our families, and the world around us, then things would begin to happen.
We need to apply it to all areas of our life. God is interested in you. He’s interested in your health, your relationships, your career/vocation, your finances, and your overall well-being.
A good mental attitude comes from knowing God. Millions of people have been healed of anxiety, depression, poor health, addictions, and negative attitudes simply by turning their lives over to the care of God.
Your sickness does not come from God, your poverty does not come from God, etc. So, let us take hold of our faith and move those mountains of lack in our lives.
“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” (1 Corinthians 2:9)
He rewards those who diligently seek Him and the rewards you receive are spiritual blessings of peace, love, deep inner joy and contentment, good health, and virtues such as patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control.
The Fountain of Life
He is the fountain of life. Come and drink this living water and you will never thirst again. Jesus invites us to come to Him and quench our thirst, our thirst for life. We all have this longing to be refreshed. Well, Jesus is the one who can refresh us.
“Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” (John 7:37-39)
In my life, I have found great peace and joy in Jesus, not things, people, or places, but In Him. This is the mystery of Christ. He is our hope and our life.
Who the Son sets free is free indeed.
